Reduce memory usage with dithering:
We can greatly reduce memory usage, without loosing much quality, combining lower quality texture type, with dithering. All we have to do, is to use RGBA 4444 texture type. And obviously to improve quality, dithering has to be enabled. Result? Lets say you have texture with following size: 1024x1024 with highest quality, it means it would require 4096 kb of memory. By switching to RGBA 4444 memory usage would be reduced by 50%!
If you still don`t know how to enable dithering, please refer to my previous article, covering how to do it properly: Dithering - improve gradient quality.
